Chemical reaction
A chemical reaction is the process in which one or more substances (the educts or reactants) are converted to one or more different substances (the products) because the atoms of the reactant create new bonds. Energy is consumed in the process (endothermic reactions) or released (exothermic reactions). The process ends when chemical equilibrium is reached or the reactants have been completely converted. The flow of a chemical reaction is shown as a reaction diagram or reaction equation:
