STAUF supports the trade with its membership

The Initiative "PiK –Parkett im Klebeverbund" is a coalition of leading companies in the wood flooring and building chemical industries. STAUF is a member of this initiative. The goal is to demonstrate the technical and creative advantages of classic installation techniques – offered by fully bonded wood flooring.

Safe and ecological solution

Our membership and engagement in the Initiative PIK supports tradesmen and floor layers by providing extensive information on wood flooring and its installation. We are committed to ensuring that end consumers recognise the advantages of fully bonded flooring and take safe and ecological choices when installing wood flooring.

Slip-resistant bonding to the substrate

The advantages of full bonding are obvious: In contrast to flooring that ‘floats’ because the wooden elements are only bonded to each other and not to the substrate, in full bonding they are fixed to the substrate and there is no slippage. This technique offers great flexibility for floor design, provides pleasant room sound and can be perfectly combined with floor heating.

Advantages for refurbishment

Bonded wood flooring also scores when it comes to refurbishment. Solvent-free adhesives make it an ecological building material. Adhesives with an EMICODE label contain no solvents. They augment the positive life cycle assessment of the natural wood flooring.
